Drought Risk Assessment under Climate Change Scenarios

The project area is Tseng-Wen Reservoir catchment and Wu-San-To Reservoir catchment that receive temporally uneven rainfall. The project plans to collect historical hydrological data and relative data of reservoir then construct a reservoir model to simulate water supply processes. Due to concentrated streamflows, the reservoirs are needed to provide firm water supply. Besides the simulations of historical settings, the project attempts to consider the drought risk of water resources system caused by climate change. This project expects to reach the following results. (1) Address the impact of climate change on water supply system. (2) Assess the drought risk of agricultural system under baseline and future scenarios. (3) Provide some suggestions for future management and adaptation strategies of water resource.
